by Dr. Boyd & Dr. Wilkinson that the name for the new school be Stuart
Scott Public School

May 21, 1923 - moved
by William Keith, seconded by A.J. Davis - That whereas the Public School
Board has applied to this council for the purpose of erecting a new public
school , Be it resolved that the By-Law Committee is instructed to introduce
a By-Law to raise by debenture the said sum of $55,000. Said debenture
to be payable in thirty years at rate percent of 5 1/2%. Adopted May 21,
1923. Second reading - August 20, 1923

THE CORNERSTONE - Sir William Mulock, K.C.B.
was assisted by the Right Honourable William Lyon McKenzie King, Prime
Minister of Canada. Chairman of Board, J.R.Y. Broughton presided . Rev.
A.J. Mann offered prayer. Sir William Mulock used a silver trowel to put
the stone in place
